Our story

Rooted in Nazareth, serving our neighbours

We are a Christian congregation in the town where Jesus grew up, carrying on a faith that has been present here for two thousand years.

Where we come from

One of the oldest Christian communities in the world

There are approximately 225,000 to 230,000 Christians living across Israel and the Palestinian territories, representing some of the oldest Christian communities in the world.

Christians in Israel and the Palestinian territories are a minority of the minority, yet our faith calls us to care for everyone, no matter where they live or what they face.

We help families who are struggling to afford food, clothing and basic living needs. Many are elderly, single parents or refugees who have no one else to turn to. Through love and faith, we want to remind them that they are not forgotten.

At the moment our church community gathers in the pastor’s basement because we do not yet have a dedicated church building. While we are grateful for the space we have, it is not suitable for a growing congregation or for the activities and community support we hope to provide.

Vision and mission

Lead people to salvation. Teach the truth. Share hope.

Our church’s vision is to lead people to salvation and teach the truth, while sharing God’s love, compassion and hope with everyone.

  1. Worship

Gathering to pray, to sing and to hear God’s word together.

  2. Teaching

Discipleship and Bible study for every generation, from children to grandparents.

  3. Compassion

Practical care for families who are struggling: food, clothing, warmth and presence.

  4. Community

A place of belonging for a congregation that is growing and needs room to grow.

What we believe

The faith that shapes our service

  • Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who lived, died and rose again. He is the carpenter of Nazareth whose name our church carries.

  • The Scriptures

We believe the Bible is God’s word, our guide for faith and for how we treat one another.

  • God’s love for all

We believe God’s love and salvation are offered to every person, without exception.

  • Faith in action

We believe faith is proven in love: in feeding the hungry, clothing the cold and standing with the forgotten.

Our congregation

Every generation, one family

On any given week our room is filled with the sounds of children, teenagers, parents and grandparents, praying, singing, studying Scripture and sharing tea together long after the service ends.

Alongside our Sunday gatherings we run Bible study, youth meetings, women’s fellowship and practical service to families who need a hand. Nobody is turned away.

Leadership

The people who serve our congregation

Our pastor and leadership team serve the church voluntarily alongside their own work, and lead our outreach to families in need.

Caring for families today, building for tomorrow

You can be part of both: reaching families in need right now, and giving our community a home for the future.

Big or small, every gift counts.

If you would like to know exactly how a gift is used, write to us. We are glad to explain, and to share the latest news from the families you have helped.
